Bagels so round,
And so good to eat.
You look like a doughnut,
Without all the sweet.
Doughnuts are fried
Covered in sugar mostly,
Bagels are plain
And are best warm and toasty.
Doughnuts go best with warm drinks,
In coffee you can dunk.
Bagels go best
When smeared with some creamy junk.
Oft times in a restaurant
In the morning I ask please,
Bring me coffee and a bagel,
That I can smother in cream cheese.
A bagel or a doughnut
At times it’s hard to judge.
A bagel is tastes fine in my mouth
But that doughnut can be covered in fudge.
The differences are many
A lot you could name.
But at least one thing you can say,
Is that the hole is the same.
