Another Love Lost

Fighting, screaming
My life consists of this
Leaving, crying
Will I ever find bliss?

All I’ve wanted
Is to be loved by another
To have someone to turn to
To have someone to cuddle

Is there truly a man
Possessing all the qualities I need?
Or am I living my life
Trapped in a childhood fantasy?

Am i really as needy
As they always say
Am I too emotional
To keep a man for tomorrow, today?

I think I’ve found him
But am I deceiving myself?
I feel the fall beginning
Am I setting the scene for another love lost?

Single Mingle

Two Eyes starring
Two Lips caring
Two Tongues caressing
Two Hands pressing
Two Legs tossing
Two Fingers crossing
Two Hearts entwine
Two Brains combine
Two Fantasies daring
Two Dreams sharing
Two Breathes dinning
Two Visions shinning
Two Souls desiring
Two Spirits firing
Two Bodies dancing
Two Flesh glancing
Two Lovers dating
Two Persons waiting

There’s a boat in the Harbor

There’s a boat in the harbor
Riding low in the waves.
There’s a hole in its keel
And it cannot be saved!

The captain is bailing;
The first-mate has fled.
The cabin boy frantically
Bails in her stead.

For each bucket bailed
Six more flow right in
As the captain’s wife wails:
Serves you right for your sin!

The captain keeps bailing
Though the first mate has fled
She won’t be the last
To share a fool’s bed.

Be My Valentine

I’d give you my heart,
But I’d like to impart,
Having difficulty? I guess I’d say sorta.
Finding the card was a snap,
I got really cute wrap,
But I made a mess when I cut the aorta.

So maybe I’ll get candy.
That really sounds dandy,
And whisper sweet nothings soft and quiet.
But it’d just be my luck,
That you’d just say yuck,
Because you recently went on a diet.

So I simply propose,
To get you a rose,
That a flower’s romantic, I am a believer.
But the way things are going,
You soon will be showing,
Sneezing and sniffling, the signs of hay fever.

So what can I do,
To show how I feel about you,
It’s so bad that I feel just like praying.
When I try to utter,
I just stammer and stutter,
And you don’t even know what I’m saying.

So I have the luck,
To be forever stuck,
With feelings and no way to show ‘em.
So I hope it’s okay,
If I take this way,
And say it all in a poem.

Smiles abound

In this merging of souls
Promises are uttered
“To have and to hold”

“In sickness and health”
“Till death do us part”
These are the promises
We make with our hearts

Over the threshold I’m carried
My soul bursting with bliss
Filled only with love
And thoughts of happiness

Ever so tender
He lies me down
In this passion filled joy
I feel I shall drown

True love like this
Comes once in a life
My life is just beginning
For I am now his wife

Though odds are against us
I know they are wrong
Through good times and bad
Our love will stand strong

“For richer or poorer”
Through happy and sad
He’ll love me forever
For this I am glad

I’ve found the man of my drems
I’ll not let go
I am his princess
And he is my hero

I’ll continue to love him
Through wind rain and shine
In my heart I’ll hold him always
He’ll forever be mine

On a Dark Moonless Night

On a dark moonless night…
I sit back to think of my old friend…
Who came like a bright star in the twilight…
and then dissapeared into the moonless night….
Where has he gone I sit back to think…
But alas! I get no answer…
He who was my closest one
Whom I shirked not to tell anything
Who never felt bore to say the answer to my every question
and was my soulmate in my depression
Who shared my laughter with greater enthusiasm…
and shed the tears with more regression..
Oh!! tell me lord what had I done..
to lose the one and only one
who my friend who was my soul
who was my only one in the world!

I heard the crunch of Christmas cookies

I wake up one morning,
The smell wafts through the air
Bringing the feeling
Of the great things soon to bear.
A growling starts
Deep down in my tummy
My mouth starts to water
For tastes that are yummy.
I jump out of bed
Find my mother a baking
I shiver and shake
And my legs start a quaking.
Anticipation grows
I know the reason,
The holidays approach
It is the cookie season.
There are cookies on plates
A thousand tins galore
Just so many kinds,
A bezillion or more.
There are ones that are round
And some look just like noodles
There are oodles and oodles
Of those snicker doodles.
There are ones that have raisons
And some that have spice,
There are dozens of shapes
All taste rather nice.
There are some that have nuts
And some that have sprinkles,
Some with white frosting
With a whole lot of wrinkles.
Some have wonderful shapes
And some look like drips
But I think that my favorite
Has the chocolatey chips.
I watch with one thought
The cookies make so clear
I hope she made enough
To last the whole year.

Kid’s Don’t Understand Christmas

All children think
Christmas just happens
But parents work tirelessly
To bring it about
Months in the planning
Putting things away
Things to add to a special day
Shopping and wrapping
Dressing and decking
Super market shopping
The prices heart stopping
Journeying from shop to shop
For the latest must have toy
All made worth while
To see a face lit with joy
